Klamath Falls man charged with Attempted Murder

The following is a press release from the office of Eve Costello, Klamath County District Attorney.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - On Thursday, June 24, 2021, at approximately 3:36 AM, Klamath County 911 received an emergency call reporting a shooting had occurred at 2860 Frontage Road in Klamath Falls, OR.

The victim of the shooting had been transported by private vehicle to Sky Lakes Medical Center. Although the victim had been shot, the injuries were not life threatening. The Klamath County Major Crime Team was activated to investigate the incident.

The Klamath County Major Crime Team is comprised of the Klamath Falls City Police, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office, the Oregon State Police, Klamath County Community Corrections and the Klamath County District Attorney’s Office.

As the investigation progressed, the Klamath County Major Crime Team identified the suspect in the shooting as Daren Jay Moore, age 56, of Klamath Falls.

An arrest warrant for Mr. Moore was obtained for the charges of Attempted Murder, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Recklessly Endangering another Person.

On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, Mr. Moore was located and taken into custody without incident. He was lodged in the Klamath County Jail.
