Lost River FFA to host Mother's Day weekend plant sale, May 9-11

Lost River FFA will be selling hanging baskets, bedding plants, vegetable starts, various flowers, and tomatoes at its Mother’s Day Weekend Plant Sale.

The plant sale runs from 3:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 9 and Friday, May 10; and from 10 a.m. to 5 pm., Sunday, May 11 at the Lost River Junior-Senior High School, 23330 Highway 50, just south of Merrill. Signs will direct customers to the greenhouse on the west of the school behind the shop building.

Last week, Lost River students worked to get the plants ready for sale, transferring starts and flowers to new containers. Baskets of petunias hung from the greenhouse ceiling and rows of vegetable starts –corn, zucchini, cauliflower, squash, watermelon, among others – were ready for gardens.
