OSP: Juvenile dies in traffic crash

The following is a press release from the Oregon State Police.

MERRILL, Ore. - On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at approximately 8:10 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle crash on Oregon Highway 39 near milepost 15 [east of Merrill].

Preliminary investigation revealed a Chevy Spark, operated by a juvenile, was northbound when it crossed in the southbound lane and collided with a Kenworth semi-truck operated by Jim Hadd (53) of Klamath Falls.

The juvenile was transported to Sky Lakes Medical Center where they were pronounced deceased.

The Oregon State Police was assisted by the Merrill Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
