Day number two of the Klamath County Fair has come and gone with a tremendous turnout, exciting experiences, and fantastic family fun. Families and individuals alike cruised through the fairgrounds soaking up the joy and adventure the fair has to offer.

The Klamath County Fair Board and Fairgrounds Staff are pleased with the way things are going with the 2019 fair.

“It is great to see that months of preparation and work has paid off, with a fantastic fair that everyone can enjoy,” says Brian Gailey, Klamath County Fair Board Member.

Gailey continues, “Our wonderful team has done an amazing job putting together this year’s fair. The infectious spirit to host an incredible fair starts at the top with Fair Manager Todd Hoggarth, and trickles down through the office staff, maintenance staff, and even the kids we hire for summer take pride in the success of the fair.”

“It is truly a team effort to put on the fair for our fellow citizens of Klamath County,” said Gailey. “Kudos to all.”

The Klamath County Fair continues Saturday when country music legends, Lonestar take the stage inside the Event Center. Sunday the Event Center plays home to the annual Rotary Auction.

Alternative Stock Show Classic

“Bigger and better every year,” says Chelsea Shearer organizer of the Alternative Stock Show Classic (ASSC) held yesterday at the 2019 Klamath County Fair. The event partners 4-H and FFA members with those who have disabilities or special needs for an first hand education opportunity like no other.

In the ASSC 4-H and FFA members teach special needs adults and youth how prepare an animal for show and how to show the animal.

After a half hour of training, all competitors head to the show rings in the Stillwell arena to show their animal and compete for best showman or show woman.

“This is our fourth event,” said Shearer. “Each year it keeps getting bigger and bigger. We are even fielding calls from other clubs on how they can adapt a similar program at their fair.”
