KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – After four amazing days full of concerts, events, showings, vendors, food, and more; the 100th celebration of the Klamath County Fair has come to a close. But not before breaking another record. The Rotary Junior Livestock Auction has been setting records for the last several years and 2022 was not an exception. This past Sunday, over $1.3 million was transacted for 4-H and FFA youth of the Klamath Basin.

We are chatting with members of the 4-H groups Forty Shorties, Stars and Stripes, and Traci from KBREC. They are organizing a drive to help livestock effected by wildfires around Santa Rose, Calif.

Tomorrow 10,000 lbs of alfalfa, milk and medical supplies will be caravanning south to Santa Rosa to help cattle and Pygmy Goats.

4-H Lamb Available From OIT Student

Klamath Falls, Ore - Grace Maxfield just finished her senior year in 4-H raising a pair of animals. Unfortunately, Maxfield found it frustrating as she could not participate in the annual Rotary Junior Livestock Auction. Both her pig and lamb did not make weight. Since fair, Maxfield has been feeding out her lamb and it now weighs in at 135 lbs. Making it ready for sale.

Maxfield is a 7-year veteran of 4-H. Starting when she was 11-years old because she wanted to be a large animal veterinarian when she grew up.  Part of the Crystal Springs Community 4-H club, Maxfield has worked hard to raise animals, and help others.
