Project Family Connect Helps Hundreds
/Each Summer the Klamath & Lake Community Action Service holds the annual Project Family Connect. This year marks the 11th annual event. The event was held last Friday [June 29, 2018] inside the Klamath County Fairgrounds Event Center.
Hundreds came out seeking a bit of help this year. The final numbers are not in as of the time of the publishing of this article. However, over 400 families and 1100 people were helped at the event in 2017.
"Its like a stand down event for civilians." said Raymond Ramirez of KLCAS.
KLCAS produces this event to both educate and connect individuals with services and resources to help get them back on their feet, while simultaneously promoting economic stability.
At this years PFC, participants were able to obtain the following services on site, free:
- medical, dental and vision care
- haircuts
- children's books
- personal hygiene products
- food
- clothing
- school supplies
- family portraits
- and more
