Rep. Reschke recaps successful 2021 Legislative Session

SALEM, Ore. – After a long six-months in a historic session, the Oregon Legislature officially adjourned the 2021 Legislative Session. Navigating through the political process was challenging this year, with the people’s work being conducted at the Capitol while the building was closed to the public.
Representative E. Werner Reschke (R-Klamath Falls) recognized the adjournment of this unusual session by highlighting important bills he sponsored and passed and will benefit residents in Southern Klamath & Lake Counties:
HB 3162 - Crater Lake National Park Day
SB 19 - Transfer of Warner Creek Correctional Facility to Lake County if the prison closes
HB 2472 - Oregon Tech designated as Oregon’s only Polytechnic University
HB 2089 - North Lake County added as part of Klamath Community College service district
HB 2433 - Extention of Tax Credit for Rural Medical Providers
HB 3389 - Protect Small Business from Unemployment Insurance pricing surge
HB 2738 – Full and adequate funding for CASA.

Rep. Reschke was appointed to the prestigious Interim Joint Emergency-Board Committee by the House Speaker. “It is an honor to be selected for this important emergency and budget rebalancing committee,” said Rep. Reschke.
In summary, Rep. Reschke added, “There were a number of pressing issues the legislature had to address related to the pandemic, devastating natural disasters, and budget. I am proud of what I was able to accomplish which required me to work closely across party lines without sacrificing my principles.”
