Youth grief camp opens enrollment

Camp Evergreen is for youth who have experienced the loss of a loved one

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Klamath Hospice and Palliative Care is welcoming back Camp Evergreen, a grief camp for youth 8-17 years old. The camp is for youth who have experienced the loss of a loved one and is designed to help them cope, build trust, and share stories of loss in a safe outdoor environment.

Camp Evergreen is now accepting campers and space is limited.

Girls ages 8-17 are invited to camp, Monday, July 19 through Wednesday, July 21. Boys ages 8-17 will be at camp, Wednesday, July 21 through Friday, July 23.

Camp is provided free to grieving youth, thanks to generous community donors.

At camp, some of the tools campers can learn include:

  • develop self-confidence,

  • build trust,

  • teach coping skills, and

  • allows kids to share their stories of loss in a safe place.

Camp Evergreen staff includes a Camp Director, Medical Staff, and trained volunteers on site.

Camp activities include: 

  • swimming with certified lifeguard supervision,

  • campfires,

  • climbing wall and zipline,

  • hiking trails and much more.

Camp Evergreen is located at Mountain Lakes Bible Camp which is approximately 25 miles from Klamath Falls on Hwy 140 (21200 Varney Creek Road, Klamath Falls OR 97603).
