Sprague River woman charged with Murder

Amy Lynn Smith has been arrested and charged with Murder II, Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon following the investigation into the death of Dustin Luke Hudson. (KCSO)

The following is a press release from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office.

SPRAGUE RIVER, Ore. - On December 7, 2021, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a lot on Skamania Rd near Sprague River, Oregon to check on the welfare of an individual. Deputies arrived on the scene and observed what they believed to be a deceased male in a travel trailer.

Based on information obtained from the other person who lived at the location deputies confirmed the deceased individual was Dustin Luke Hudson, 38 of Sprague River, OR.

During subsequent interviews conducted on December 9, 2021, Amy Lynn Smith admitted to shooting Hudson while he slept on the morning of December 6, 2021.

Smith has been lodged at the Klamath County Jail and the Klamath County District Attorney has filed the following charges: Murder II, Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
