At approximately 12:15 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2019, Klamath County Sheriff’s deputies along with Keno Fire, Klamath County Fire District 1, and Klamath-Lake Regional HazMat Team were dispatched to Production Metal Forming Inc. on Highway 66 in Klamath Falls for reports of a suspicious envelope that potentially contained a hazardous substance.

Several employees were transported to Sky Lake Medical Center for precautionary reasons and later released.

All precautions were taken and it was determined there is no immediate danger to the public. However, the office portion of the facility is under quarantine during the investigation.

Due to the ongoing investigation details on the origin of the envelope, who it was addressed to, and suspicious substance is not yet available.

Klamath County Emergency Management, Klamath County Public Health, and Klamath County Sheriff’s Office are working with all relevant State and Federal partners in the investigation.

This is a developing story and Klamath Falls News will provide updates as they become available.
