ALTURAS, Calif. - Permits will not be available for collection of obsidian from the four designated collection areas in the Warner Mountains and all obsidian collection will remain closed until further notice. All Forest Service offices in the Pacific Southwest Region remain closed due to the pandemic.

NorCal Team 2 will transfer command of the Stone Fire to a Type 3 Modoc National Forest organization at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2018.

The Stone Fire remains at 39,387 acres and is 100% contained. 696 resources are assigned to the fire, including three helicopters.
