LAKEVIEW, OR – The Fremont-Winema National Forest is currently seeking energetic, good-natured volunteers to serve as campground hosts for the 2022 summer recreation season at one of two locations.

Work started this week to remove the vault toilet at Aspen Cabin on the Lakeview Ranger District and replace it with a new vault toilet. That work is expected to be completed early next week.

It is estimated that the fire was close to doubling in size throughout the afternoon and by nightfall the fire had crossed over Clover Flat Road, making the fire an estimated 37,000 acres.
