Woods sentenced to 350-months for sex abuse of a minor

On February 11, 2022, the honorable Judge Alycia Kersey sentenced Joseph Elmer Woods to the care, custody, and control of the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) for a period of 350 months, based on pleas to charges involving Wood’s sexual abuse of an unrelated, 9-yr old child. The court made the specific finding that Woods is a drug-dependent person and recommended that DOC offer treatment.

JCSO Seeks Help in Finding Additional Sexual Abuse Victims of Robert Ernst

Jackson County, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) detectives believe a man investigated on child luring and abuse charges in Texas and in Jackson County may have more victims.  Robert Bernard Ernst, 38, formerly of Medford, has been in federal custody in Texas since the spring of 2018 after an arrest for enticement of a minor for indecent purposes.
