WWII, railroad tours offered this month

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Tours exploring World War II sites and railroading history in Klamath County will be offered this month. Places, where war-related activities took place, will be visited in a September 19 auto tour sponsored by the Klamath County Museum. Railroads constructed in the early 1900s will be the subject of a September 26 auto tour co-sponsored by the museum and the Shaw Historical Library.

KUHS to plant Hiroshima Peace Tree as part of 75th anniversary to the end of WWII

SALEM, Ore – To mark the 75th anniversary of the close of World War II, Klamath Union High School has joined 25 other communities across the state in confirming that next year they will plant special peace trees distributed by the Oregon Department of Forestry in partnership with the non-profit groups Oregon Community Trees and the Medford-based One Sunny Day Initiative.
