More than 960 local elementary students will learn all about agriculture at the annual Klamath County Farm Expo, coming up next week.

"The conference will be an excellent opportunity for young farmers and ranchers to learn about policy issues facing Oregon agriculture, gain useful information for their businesses, sharpen advocacy skills, network, and have a lot of fun," said Jenny Freeborn, vice chair of the YF&R Committee. "Registration for the two-day conference is also a great deal at only $40."
Happening until 6:00 PM today is the Ag Career Fair at Klamath Community College (KCC). Keith Duran, Natural Resources Systems Department Chair at KCC, discusses the shortage of agriculture related jobs, businesses looking for employees and the current Agriculture program offered at KCC.

The fair is 1 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 29. Booths and vendors can be found in and around Building 6 on the KCC campus in Klamath Falls. The event is free and open to the public.
“We are expecting about 25 ag businesses and agencies,” said Keith Duren, KCC ag program lead. “Our goal is for people to get an idea of the breadth of opportunity within the ag industry and hopefully find an aspect of it that matches their interest.”
