Klamath Falls, Ore. – The 16th annual Taste of Klamath has been postponed until Saturday June 16 at 5pm. The new date was chosen to coincide with the public sneak peek preview of the Ragland’s new digital cinema project.  Anyone who bought tickets for the original date will be able to use their ticket for entry on the new date.

Taste of Klamath is a culinary event that celebrates and showcases the many wonderful food and beverages produced locally and regionally and benefits many worthwhile projects offered by the Ragland.

Everyone knows that the Ross Ragland Theater brings world class national and international acts to the Basin.  But what many people may not realize is that the RRT is also one of the biggest educational powerhouses in the area. Each year over 12,000 children are served through at least one of the Ragland’s seven Education and Outreach programs.  These programs all supplement the educational programs from both school districts, are in line with common core curriculum and enhance studies in many different subjects - often times at little or no cost to parents.  The Ragland is able to provide this extraordinary benefit to Basin kids through extensive grand writing, corporate fundraising campaigns and events like February’s Red Tie Romp or the upcoming Taste of Klamath.

“Taste of Klamath funds directly benefit our Access Program,” says RRT Executive Director, Mark McCrary, “this program, which serves approximately 1,000 individuals each year, allows low income youth and families an equal opportunity to see performances and benefit from educational activities. Almost as important, however, is that Taste of Klamath is a lot of fun!”

Indeed, the annual event has become a favorite for residents of Klamath County and tourists alike.  The Theater facilities and grounds (weather permitting) are transformed into a culinary hodgepodge of the best of the Basin.  Taste of Klamath offers local businesses the chance to show off their very best and guests the chance to sample local, gourmet cuisine, beers and wines.

Competitions for “Best Bite,” “Best Buzz,”  “Best Dessert” and “Best Booth” for the categories of food, drink, dessert and people’s choice, respectively, allow vendors the chance to engage in light-hearted competition and gain industry bragging rights.  Interested vendors can register at rrtheater.org or by visiting the box office.

The 2017-18 performance season is sponsored by KLAD, Big 98.5, Sunny 107, The Eagle, Forward Vision Media, Herald and News, Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment of the Arts.

The Ross Ragland Theater’s mission is to provide high-quality performing arts and educational experiences that enhance community life in the Klamath Basin.  The Ross Ragland Theater is located at 218 North 7th Street in Klamath Falls. Telephone 541-884-LIVE (5483) for ticket information and reservations or visit the theater’s website at www.rrtheater.org to purchase tickets online and learn more about the theater. The box office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and two hours prior to show time the day of any weekend show.
