Three Owls Receive Player of the Week Honors

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Three Oregon Tech Athletes, Josh Kallstrom for Baseball, Kiahna Brown for Softball and Hunter Drops for Track were named Red Lion Cascade Conference Players of the Week the conference office announced today.
 
Kallstrom, a junior first baseman from Ephrata, Wash., had another monster weekend at the plate for the Hustlin' Owls with a .500 average as he drove in 7-runs and scored 7 times in the weekend 4-game series. He had three doubles, a triple and a home run. He now leads the NAIA-West in batting average, .388, in hits (54), total bases (90) and is tied for first in home
runs (6), doubles (16) and is second in slugging percentage at .647.
 
Brown, a junior second baseman from Redmond, Ore., put on the week with a batting average of .409. Out of the 9 hits she recorded 4 home runs and 7 RBI. Overall Brown finished the weekend with a slugging average of 1.091.
 
Drops, a freshman from Coos Bay, Ore., hit an "A" qualifier in the pole vault and is now No. 1 in the Nation. He followed that up with a second place throw in the Javelin, another "A" qualifier, and is now No. 1 in the CCC and No. 7 in the nation.
