Klamath Heritage: Klamath Junction [VIDEO]

 

Klamath County Museum’s Photo of the Week for April 28, 2019, shows a tourism and visitor bureau operated by the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce near Ashland in the 1920s.

The location of the visitor bureau was at the Klamath Junction, or the point where the Ashland-Klamath Falls Highway (known today as Highway 66, or the Greensprings Highway) met the Pacific Highway(later known as Highway 99, and the forerunner of Interstate 5).

The chamber’s visitor bureau included a filling station, dining room, campground and exhibit hall where Klamath products were displayed.
