Each summer, Klamath & Lake Community Action Services holds our annual Project Family Connect event where we bring together a number of community service partners in one location to provide services and support for members of our community who are in-need, at risk of becoming homeless, or currently homeless.

The ultimate purpose of this event is to both educate and connect individuals and families with services and resources to help get them on back on their feet, while simultaneously promoting economic stability. Last year alone, more than 400 struggling families consisting of more than 1100 people, received assistance through this one-day event.

At this year’s Project Family Connect, participants will obtain free immediate services including medical, dental and vision care, haircuts, and children’s books. Those who attend will also have access to other necessary items such as hygiene products, food, clothing, school supplies and more.

Of course, this unique one-day event is not possible without the support of caring individuals and organizations within our community. If you, or someone you know would like to assist us in our fight against poverty, we still have a need for volunteers to help at the event and we are still taking donations of the following items until Thursday, June 28, 2018:

• Clean, gently used men’s clothing
• New socks and underwear (men’s, women’s and children’s)
• Diapers

Donations can be dropped off at the KLCAS office located at 2300 Clairmont Dr. between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm
