Lady Owls Sweep Season Series from Yotes

CALDWELL, Idaho – Oregon Tech (15-5, 5-1 CCC) swept a Cascade Conference doubleheader Sunday from College of Idaho (11-8, 2-4 CCC) 3-2 in game 1, and 6-5 in game 2, sweeping the season series and extending their win streak to six straight.

Oregon Tech Pitcher Kelly Scott allowed six hits and struck out seven to pick up her ninth win of the year during today's first game. College of Idaho Pitcher Colette Robert allowed nine hits while striking out one. She now sits at 8-3 for the season.
 
Kiahna Brown kicked things off for the Owls in the first game, hitting a home run to left field in the third inning. One batter later, her teammate Tara Moates would send one over the fence at center field to bring the score to 2-0. In the fifth inning, Olivia Lethlean made it home on an Ali Graham center field single to make the score 3-0.
 
The Yotes turned it on in on the seventh inning when Trystin Crofts hit a left field home run, resulting in runs for her and Taylor Eakle. Down by one run, Marissa Maddox got on base with a single to left field. The comeback was cut short as Bentli Corta struck out and Kristin Paulazzo hit a fly ball to center field as Tech held on for the 3-2 win.
 
Oregon Tech 6 College of Idaho 5 Game 2 (Non-conference) 
 
In game 2, the Yotes struck first with 2-runs on 1-hit and an OIT error.
 
In the third inning, Baylee Wyscaver hit a homer out to right field to put the Owls within one run of the Yotes. Moates would ground out to the shortstop later in the inning, but that allowed Brown to make it home and tie the game at 2-2.
 
In the fourth inning, Oregon Tech's Rachael Delamare started things off with a double to right field. Jacey Conklin would hit a sacrifice fly to center field two batters later, allowing Delamare to make it to home for a score of 3-2.
 
Brown hit her 3rd home run of the season to left field to start off the 5th inning, then Irene McGuire's RBI single to left field scored Sahalie Doe and put the Owls up 5-2.
 
In the bottom of the fifth, a Martha Tooley double to right field allowed Crofts to tack another run on for the Yotes. The Owls responded in the top of the sixth with an unearned Conklin run on a Doe double.
 
The Yotes scored the final two runs of the day starting with Aleah Mendiola scoring on a wild pitch from OIT's Sarah Abramson. In the seventh inning, Tooley flied out to center field while Crofts ran home to make the score 6-5. The Yotes tried to regain the lead, starting with a double from Eakle. Up next, Jordan Maddox and Mallory Copeland walked to fill the bases. The comeback ended with a Paulazzo fly ball to center field.
 
Abramson picked up the win pitching the final 5 innings, allowing 3-runs on 7-hits to improve to 5-2 on the year.
 
Oregon Tech will next host University of British Columbia next Friday and Saturday at the OIT Softball Complex. First pitch for Friday's doubleheader is 2:00 pm with Saturday's doubleheader scheduled for an 11:00 am start.
 
OIT and Simpson have moved their doubleheader originally scheduled for this Wednesday March 14th to April 18th at 2:00 pm at OIT.
