Public Meeting to be held on Eternal Hills clean up

A community meeting will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 6:30 pm at the Klamath County Fairgrounds regarding cleanup at Eternal Hills Cemetery. The meeting is hosted by the Eternal Hills Guardians.

The Eternal Hills Guardians plan to cover a variety of topics including: What is happening with the earth, vegetation and rodent population on the property - Proper equipment and management of the grass including methods for weed control - Do’s and Dont’s to prevent further erosion and topsoil issues - Oregon Mortuary Crematory Board’s role - Local and state laws and how we can continue volunteering effectively within the laws - Information on the Oregon Revised Statute in regards to disinterment.

The Guardians have also invited many from the community to attend. A select few will guest speak at the event including:

  • Chris Kaber, Klamath County Sheriff

  • Amanda Graham, Klamath County Animal Control

  • Fili Gomez, New Sun Landscaping

  • Derrick DeGroot, Klamath County Commissioner

  • Carolyn Wade, Oregon Department of Justice

  • Chad Dresselhaus, Oregon Mortuary and Cemetery Board
