FORT KLAMATH, Ore. - A gathering to view the annual Perseid meteor shower will be held Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Fort Klamath Museum. The event is free. Participants are encouraged to arrive around 9 p.m. at the museum located along Highway 62 about 35 miles north of Klamath Falls.

The Baldwin Hotel and Fort Klamath museums will open for the summer season on Saturday, May 25. Living history demonstrations will be presented Saturday and Sunday at the Fort Klamath Museum, 51400 Highway 62, on the way to Crater Lake National Park. Civil War re-enactors, pioneer women and horse owners will be on the grounds. Gates open at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Free admission!

Historic sites between Fort Klamath and Kimball State Park will be explored during the 13th annual History Fitness Hike on May 4.
The hike coincides with a celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Kimball State Park. The event is cosponsored by the Klamath County Museum, the YMCA of Klamath Falls, and Oregon State Parks. Registration deadline is April 26.
