Last week, the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce held its 3rd annual Klamath Day at the Capitol, an important day of advocacy for the Klamath Basin. The delegation met with over 40 Senators and Representatives as well as 4 different agencies to address opportunities and concerns of the local community. 

“This helps give the Klamath business community a voice with our elected officials,” said Heather Tramp, the Chamber’s Executive Director, “I believe it’s one of the most important things we can do for our membership – represent business interest and advocate for opportunity and solutions.”

The job fair is March 21, and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the KCC Commons in Building 4. Vendors are invited to start setting up at 9 a.m.

Oregon Tech Instructor Appointed First Community Dental Health Coordinator

Dora Luz Sandoval, part-time clinical instructor at the Oregon Tech Dental Hygiene school at Chemeketa Community College, is the first and only certified Community Dental Health Coordinator (CDHC) in Oregon.

A collaboration between the Washington County Access to Care Committee, Washington County and Oregon Oral Health Coalition, the Dental Access Coordinator role is being piloted with Pacific University Dental Outreach Van and the Providence Promotores Program.

KLCAS Postal Substation Closed

The postal substation co-located and operated with Klamath & Lake Community Action Services on Clairmont Drive near the OIT campus, closed today February 8, 2018.

The postal substation was opened in 2014 as a workforce training site, a potential revenue source to support the Klamath & Lake Community Action Services and as a service to the community.  In the face of declining revenue, however, the KLCAS board elected to close the site.
